What should I know before booking?
What should I know before booking?
Sometimes when booking colour it’s not always obvious to clients which service they should book. We are always more than happy to give a complimentary Consultation for clients prior to booking. It allows clients to discuss with a stylist what they are hoping to achieve, whether this is possible and how much it will cost(so there are no surprises when we meet). Just Call us on the day and we will give you a time that is best to stop by, so someone is available to chat to you. You can just pop in if you are in the area but if everyone is busy that limits the time they may have to discuss things with you. It also gives us an opportunity to patch test you prior to your appointment.
A patch test is for clients wishing to have a colour service. We apply a small drop of colour on the skin at least 48 hrs prior to the service. It’s to identify clients who make be likely to have an allergic reaction to colour treatments. All clients need to pop in at least 48 hrs prior to the service so that we can test them-you don’t need to book-just stop by and someone will take care of you.
Good Things to know.
Good Things to know.
All our prices are from prices. By this we mean that if you you are a straight forward client who is able to have the service you have booked for that will be the price. Obviously if you have very long or very thick hair there will be a higher price charged simply because we will need to use that much more colour to achieve the result. If you are having a cut/blowdry and your hair is very long or very thick there may also be an addional cost simply because it takes much longer.
Very often clients will book for colour when they have previously had colour on their hair. If we are just doing a colour match then we will again charge the price advertised. If there is a big change that needs additional work such as pre colouring or Toners then there will be an addional charge.
This is when we are dramatically changing the colour either from dark to light on previously coloured hair or from light to dark on previously coloured hair. If it were just a case of selecting a colour and applying it, that would make our lives so much easier but unfortunately that is not the way it works. Once colour has been applied to the hair you have permanently altered the colour of the hair and we may need to do additional services in order to achieve the desired result. Again, please feel free to come by for a chat prior to booking so that we can advise you.
When we use a lightener to lighten hair(bleach) depending on the level of lightness desired-sometimes there are tones that are unwanted. We have all seen people walking around who have used bleach and the colour looks orangey and yellow. This is because the hair has not been toned properly. Sometimes we need to use 2 toners or more to achieve the desired results so it is unlikely if we do bleach in any colour application that we will NOT need to use a toner. This is an addional cost. Again we will tell you this at consultation.
Clients with hair extensions will def be charged extra for all services as it takes much longer to do. Any client wishing colour/chemical treatments must stop by for a consultaion prior to booking. We do not accept any responsibility for hair extensions that become loose or fall out during a service. Of course we will do our best to try to mitigate this but we cannot accept responsibility for someone elses work.
Root applications are for clients with less that an inch of regrowth. Once it has grown more than that then we will need to use additional colour and may need to add toners-this is an additional cost.
We know everyone loves long hair but having a colour and not having a cut is not a great idea. We are increasingly seeing more and more clients who are cutting their hair only once or twice a year. No ones hair will look great with this level of maintenance. Even if you want long hair you still need to have regular cuts and a minimum this should be every three months.
On a Consultation we always ask clients what they are hoping to achieve. If it’s achievable then we can just get straight to it but we will always gives our professional opinion. Sometimes that involves telling clients things they don’t want to hear but it is our job to give you a professional opinion. You are free to either accept or reject that advice. No client should just go along with something they do not agree with and you can always ask for a second opinion(no one will be offended). It’s just the same as any other profession-you are asking for advice from someone who specialises in hair and we will always give a truthful opinion-thats our job.
We genuinely want everyone to leave the salon feeling that they have been listened to, respected and looked after in a professional and friendly way with hair that they love.
Ocassionally someone is dispointed and in that case we want to hear from you if you feel we haven’t hit your expectations. Everyone at Halo London are genuinely nice people and would feel awful if they felt we had not hit the mark and would want to put it right. We understand that it may feel a little awkward but we really would feel better if we made you feel better and got you the result you wanted. Anyone can always message us at info@halosalons.london and we’ll listen and aim to put it right-we want you to be happy.
And finally, everyone is welcome at Halo London. Everyone will be treated equally no matter what your background, sexuality, religion, or race. We don’t make a big song and dance about it because to us it’s a given we treat everyone with courtesy and respect.
